Sköllengården

We really enjoyed exploring Simrishamn and the neighboring towns, and hope to come back soon. My husband and I spent a short but sweet “honeymoon” here in June after someone recommended the area. Gustaf & Kristin were lovely hosts and made us feel at home, with good tips on where to go and what to do. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing, and the breakfast buffet was lovely. They’ve done a great job restoring the buildings and creating a cozy interior. You can tell they’ve put a lot of heart into the place.

The rooms and breakfast were great, and we felt right at home. We also really enjoyed the local beers and wines. Definitely book the restaurant during your stay, the meal was great and the setting very cozy. Sköllengården has a fantastic location and views, and the couple hosting us were lovely and shared good tips about the area. We were here out of season, so I imagine it’s even better in summer. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was spacious, and the terrace had a magnificent view of the coastline. Gustav even let us pick fruit from the beautiful apple tree in the garden. This gem sits in an idyllic spot between land and sea, full of warmth and cozy little touches. Gustav and his wife go out of their way to make guests feel at home. Breakfast had locally sourced bread, herring, and juices, with something for everyone's taste. The main sitting room is a convivial place to play board games and enjoy local craft beer or wine. A real gem.

We watched the sunset from our little patio every night. So peaceful! The owners were super friendly, and the seaside views were charming. Our stay at Sköllengården was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, and I’d highly recommend taking one of the bikes available for rent, complimentary for guests, to explore the nearby areas.
