We only had a short visit to Sjöbo Gästgiveri and wish we'd had longer. After arriving late, we went out into the countryside and got back even later, letting ourselves in after 8pm with the old-fashioned front door key. I actually found that charming. There were two keys, one for our room and one for the hotel, which gave the place a timeless, almost storybook feeling. The room wasn't fancy or luxurious, but it was pleasant and comfortable, just what we needed. Everything seemed clean and well kept, and the shower was surprisingly good. We didn't have time to try the food or explore the hotel and its grounds, which we regret. The place really seems to invite a wander. Its location was especially handy for us, right in the middle of everything we wanted to see in Skåne, with easy access to castles, coastlines, countryside, and charming towns. It makes an ideal base for exploring the region. Next time, we'll slow down and give it the time it deserves.

The historic building is lovely, and the staff were super friendly. We all enjoyed dinner: I had the vegetarian platter, while my colleagues chose the Christmas smorgasbord. Everything was really tasty!

The hotel is very old, and the room was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. There was hair and dust everywhere, a squashed spider on the bathroom ceiling, and white stains on the bed pillows. The restaurant serves typical Swedish food. Breakfast was mostly salty food, though there was yogurt and fruit.

There’s plenty of parking on-site and nearby, and the place is clean and neat, with pleasant staff and slightly traditional decor. The way they seat customers is practical and efficient, with no time wasted. I booked a table for lunch and had delicious freshly cooked food. The menu is limited, but the portions are generous and the value is extremely good. Just watch out for the cobblestones if you're wearing high heels. I'll definitely visit again.

We love the building and its location, but the food has been a mixed bag on our several visits. Sometimes it's good, sometimes bad, and sadly we've had more bad meals than good ones.
