Lanthotell Lögnäs Gård

I came back in 2025 and the food was still very good, with good service too. This time, though, my room had a squeaky mattress, which was a bit annoying. On my earlier visit, I found the simple spa hotel enjoyable, especially the pleasant evening meal and the lovely rural setting.

Our room was around 30 degrees when we arrived in the evening. There was no air conditioning or window, only a terrace door opening onto a shared area, so we couldn’t leave it open while we were away. Also, there was no vending machine for late-night snacks or soft drinks, and everything closes at 10 PM. The staff were nice and polite, and the food and service were good.

We stopped here in two campers and had a nice dinner. The powered pitches were very good, and the four separate showers with toilets were among the best we found on our Sweden tour. There’s wellness here too, so it’s worth stopping to enjoy.

The place itself is amazing, but the poor cleaning and lack of kindness and willingness from staff made our stay very unpleasant. We never got to enjoy the spa after our daughter was bitten by a farm pig and we spent our main day at the hospital emergency, pharmacies and helping her cope with a week of medication. The sign invited visitors to come in and play with the animals, but the bite drew blood, and pig bites can be extremely dangerous because of bacteria. No one from staff or management came to apologize. They said they hadn’t seen what happened and couldn’t comment. They did lend us phones to call the medical line and gave us some first aid supplies when we asked, but no one seemed to care, or even pretend to. I’d been interested in using the spa on the night we arrived, but the two women I spoke with kept telling me it would be better tomorrow or another day, and didn’t seem to listen to what we needed. The room ventilation was poor, and the pillows and sheets smelled, some strongly of dogs. We were told the beds couldn’t be moved to keep our daughter from falling out, but found out on the last day that they could. I spent the night keeping her from falling onto the floor and barely slept. Breakfast had lots of choices but no fruit, and the plant-based milk looked quite old. At the farm shop, while waiting to see the kittens, I asked to buy plain water. They had none for sale, but offered it free to guests who paid just to see the animals. The girl at the counter made me feel like I was begging and said she’d give me water this time only, since it wasn’t meant for hotel guests, as if we hadn’t paid to stay there. And they serve food in a place with animal feces still on the corners and walls.
