Sydkustens at Pillehill

We loved relaxing on the terrace with a glass of vino, and the dinners were fantastic, with interesting flavours and wine pairings that worked perfectly. It's a quirky, one-of-a-kind hotel in a beautiful landscape. Everything felt personal, from the welcome and service to the rooms, each with its own character. This was my second stay in two months, and I'd like to make coming back a habit.

We spent five days at Pillehill for a family wedding and were treated with grace, friendly sophistication and impeccable service. The views from the dining room are breathtaking, and the locally sourced food was clean, fresh and wildly delicious. The dedicated staff also served an impressive wine list and cocktails that should satisfy even discerning connoisseurs. Owners and hosts Jannike, a gifted sommelier, and Johan, a charming and welcoming fellow, are wonderful at what they do. The rooms are charming and all different, decorated with chic humor, elegance and comfort. These old buildings have been renovated and updated beautifully, including modern bathrooms with a touch of luxe. The mini-fridge was well stocked with fairly priced treats. There's peace and quiet, sweeping views and plenty of nature, along with a real gastronomic treat. Hillton, the enthusiastically adorable Dalmatian, will make sure you have fun!

We really enjoyed the five-course menu, and the wine pairing went very well with it. Breakfast was hearty and had lots of options. It's a lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff, plus a lovely view and a jacuzzi. Special mention for quintus the dog.

We had our wedding here with 20 guests, and the hosts couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Even with COVID19 looming, the host couple did everything they could to help and give us an A-plus experience. It's a wonderfully cozy place with lots of culture and history.
