Magnolia House Norrviken

The apartment itself is lovely and very self-sufficient, with useful kitchen facilities that made cooking for ourselves easy. The cleaners were friendly and a real credit to the apartments. The location is great if you plan ahead, and I’d suggest hiring a car. The arrival spoiled a lot of that for me. We’d paid extra for a deluxe double, but were given a standard room with two singles. We’d told the staff several times we’d arrive around midnight. Since the beds would need cleaning if we slept in them, and the email and booking.com said there was 24-hour contact, we called to ask whether they wanted to move us right away or wait until morning. We weren’t happy to stay in singles after paying for the upgrade. The man who answered was shockingly rude. He picked up shouting, “Mongolia House IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.” It caught me off guard because everyone else we’d dealt with had been lovely. I explained the issue and asked what they preferred, but he just said to push the beds together, as some people like them apart. The double had cost extra, so this was frustrating. Still, his manner frightened me and I just said OK. He then said, “It’s not a problem for you to push them, what is this?” and hung up. I’ve travelled a lot and have never been shouted at like that. We’d called late to make things easier for them, so they wouldn’t have to move us and clean another room. I regret trying to be considerate. The following afternoon, after a very passive-aggressive message on the booking.com app, they swapped the bed topper, which wasn’t really a mattress, for a double one. At least there wasn’t a gap to fall into, but it wasn’t worth the extra cost at all. I was very upset by that call. The other communications had been wonderful, which made the experience all the more disappointing.

I stayed in this apartment for months and really enjoyed it. It even made me want a home of my own in a similar style and in this neighborhood. It’s clean, stylish, and in a quiet area surrounded by nature, with a big lake, lots of parks, and paths for evening walks or runs. Great for a short visit or a longer stay. You can get to the city and supermarkets by bus or pendeltåg. The bus stop is only 200-300 meters away, and the pendeltåg station is about 1 kilometer away. The WiFi worked perfectly for me when I was working from the apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and despite the nearby road, the windows keep the noise out. I’d really recommend it. Amazing hotel for the price.

We had weekly room cleaning during our stay at Magnolihouse, including fresh sheets and towels, vacuuming, and mopping. It made things very relaxing. The area is quiet and peaceful, and there’s access to a gym and reliable WiFi. Two train stations and a small grocery store are about a 15-minute walk away. The bus stops and a gas station are a five-minute walk.

After a false fire alarm, the host confronted us aggressively late at night and accused us of damage we hadn’t caused. We felt unsafe and left straight away to find somewhere else to stay. I’ve travelled extensively and haven’t encountered such unprofessional behavior before. I’d advise others to be cautious about this listing.
