AC Hotel by Marriott Stockholm Ulriksdal

The hotel is lovely, with a clean, welcoming lobby and a convenient location. One late-night staff member was kind and hospitable, which we appreciated, but the service overall felt inconsistent and short on warmth. As a first-time guest traveling internationally, I expected more from a Marriott property. At first, the staff member helping us seemed pleasant. After we asked a few basic questions, though, I felt like a bother. More than once, I waited at the desk while staff talked among themselves, and when someone did help, I was interrupted and given conflicting information. The luggage arrangements caused extra stress. One staff member assured us they could hold our bags, but later the delivery service was told they couldn’t leave them there, which the service also noted. We were also never acknowledged for my Bonvoy elite status at check-in or during the stay. That isn’t the most important thing, but it is part of Marriott’s brand standard and affects the guest experience.

I chose AC Hotel Stockholm Ulriksdal for an overnight layover because it’s the closest Marriott property to Arlanda Intl Airport, with easy, frequent transport or taxi access. The train, line 40, cost SEK190 each way and went directly between the airport and Ulriksdal station in about 30 minutes. The hotel is right by the station, less than a five-minute walk away. I got a larger room upgrade because of my loyalty status and chose points for the welcome gift instead of F&B credits. Room 632, a family room with a large sofa-bed, was spacious and clean, and the kingsize bed was comfortable. The tap water is safe to drink, and the hotel encourages guests to use it. I’d hoped to try the SPA in the morning before my longhaul flight, but my extra clothes were in luggage checked through to my final destination, so I couldn’t. Elites get a voucher for one hour; other guests pay extra, with the entrance fee covering two hours of unlimited use. I also missed the 24-hour gym, which is included in all room rates, because I didn’t have workout clothes. Maybe next time. I couldn’t explore the neighborhood given my arrival and checkout times. Check-in and checkout were smooth, thanks to the professional, capable staff. I’d stay again for the same reasons.

Ulriksdal Station is only a short walk away, with frequent trains for getting into the city or to the airport, so transport was easy. The staff were really friendly and ready to help, and everything felt clean, organized, and relaxed during my few days at AC Hotel Stockholm Ulriksdal. Breakfast was fresh and tasted good, but it was the same each morning. A little more variety would’ve been welcome after a few days. Still, that wasn’t a dealbreaker. I had a good stay and found the place comfortable and convenient.

The staff gave excellent service and upgraded my room. The accommodation was comfortable and affordable. Platinum members don’t receive breakfast, but there’s a daily SEK100 credit option that can be spent in the restaurant.
