Slite Strandby

The restaurant was a disaster. We waited 90 minutes for two pizzas, a burger and a rack of lamb, and everything came burnt or overcooked. The prices were as high as you’d expect at a fancy restaurant, too. Our house was nice and clean, but the view from the window included a large factory that wasn’t shown in any of the booking site pictures. We also had to clean the house before leaving, and the standards for the cleaning to be approved were very strict. If you don’t meet them, you have to pay extra. Bedding and towels can be rented, but they’re quite expensive.

The location is amazing, with a beautiful view of the sea, and the rooms are cozy and comfortable. But some stuga don’t have mosquito nets. In the evening especially, there are so many mosquitoes and bugs that the room gets too hot because you can’t open the door or window. It was a really horrible experience. Bring insect repellent before booking, and a small portable fan.

This is about the restaurant, not the camping or glamping. It’s pretty okay and family friendly, though honestly a bit too casual. The tables are by the pool, so there were kids running around while their parents chased after them. The menu isn’t anything special, and the price feels a bit high for the quality. Portions are tiny. I had the lunch special, starting with a burrata salad that was tasty but really small.

The tent was tidy and cozy, and the sea view was fantastic. Slite beach nearby was fun to visit. A few things were disappointing: there’s no shared kitchen, the shower room could be larger, and our tent didn’t have the wooden chair that some of the others had.
