Ursand Resort & Camping

Kids love all the creative playgrounds and fun areas made for them. There are lots of pitches for campers and caravans, from shady spots under trees to places nearer the beach. The campsite has plenty of parking and a good range of services, including clean, modern sanitary buildings, well stocked shops and cozy cafés. The team at Ursand clearly keeps adding ideas and improvements, making it more welcoming each season. It's beautifully set by Lake Vänern, easy to reach on good roads, with fresh air and changing forest scenery that make for a relaxing atmosphere.

Ursand Resort & Camping sits right by Lake Vänern, around 3 km north of Vänersborg. There are good facilities for swimming, fishing and exercise.

Wasps everywhere! I've never seen so many. We left a day early from our planned 10-night July holiday with our two young kids. We stayed in cabin #43. The campsite was very busy, but well organized, clean and well staffed, and Ursand is super kid friendly. We had a good experience overall until the wasps became impossible to ignore. The beach, swimming pool and playgrounds were all packed with them. We won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend it to families with small children or anyone with insect issues. Our 3 year old boy was stung at the beach on day 2. It more or less ruined the holiday for him. After that, he kept running away and screaming whenever he thought wasps were around. It wasn't fun.

Getting a hot dog turned into an ordeal that lasted more than 70 minutes. The whole place was crowded and disorganized. It's a beautiful spot, but having so many people crammed in takes away its charm.
