Hotell Apladalen

A nice, family friendly B&B. The rooms are simple, but clean.

The service was very good, and breakfast was generous and delicious. Free parking was a nice bonus. It's in a quiet part of town, with good restaurants nearby. The room was very cozy, though rather tiny.

I booked a room at Apladalens Hotell. When I arrived, it was still listed as available, but I was refused check-in even though the check-in time hadn't passed. Staff didn't help and told me to leave the hotel “before I call the police.” I left to avoid trouble. Later I contacted the hotel to ask what had happened and get help, but staff refused to give me their names. They sent me a door code that didn't work, so I still couldn't get into the room. As a direct result, I had nowhere to stay and had to sleep in my car. This was a serious failure in customer service, inaccurate information on the booking page, and a failure to provide the agreed service. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this hotel, and I strongly advise other guests not to book without first checking availability directly with the hotel.

I could charge my car in the hotel parking lot, which meant I could continue my trip the next day without any trouble. The room was clean and everything worked as it should. On New Year's Day, I got caught in a snowstorm on the way home and needed a hotel quickly, even though everything seemed closed. I called this one and got a basic room right away. The staff were very helpful, gave clear instructions, and answered all my questions. They offered me coffee, and since the hotel is close to the city center, I took a walk there and got to see a bit of Värnamo. Highly recommended!
