The stay was otherwise OK, but be careful about the taxi the receptionist orders. When I asked them to arrange one at the end of my visit, they got a taxi that charged €700 for the trip to Arlanda airport. Don't assume Scandic will order one that won't rip you off.

I loved the pool and sauna. They made a great place to unwind after exploring or work meetings, and the rooms had a comfortable Nordic style that worked for families and business travelers. The organic breakfast buffet had local treats, and the service was very professional. Scandic Västerås is at Pilgatan 33, near the E18, a handy base in the Mälardalen region. There's free parking with EV charging, and Kokpunkten Water Park and the city center are nearby. A top choice for convenience.

The staff were really nice, and breakfast was good, though the lighting wasn't. The room had basic things and was cold at first. Reception gave me a heater after a day.

The breakfast was fantastic, with meat, veggie options, cereal, and pretty much anything you could want. My room was clean and more than enough, and the welcome and cozy atmosphere were lovely, even in this industrial area. Getting to the center was the downside. I had to go there several times a day, and each trip took 15-20 minutes one way. That got annoying and didn't feel worth the few bucks you might save. You can take a bus, Uber, or scooter, but as a German who didn't want to spend money on those, I lost time from my day. Still a great hotel, just not ideal for my needs.

Free parking, clean and spacious rooms, a good breakfast, and friendly staff made this fine for a quick business trip or stopover. The center was about a 10-minute drive away. The hotel feels a little tired, the lobby was noisy, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable. Fine for a short stay, but nothing more.
