Granö Beckasin

We spent a night in one of the amazing treehouses and had delicious food at Granö Beckasin before and after our 7-day trip down the Umealven on a wooden raft. Emil did a great job helping us build it on the first day, and the preparations made it easy for my partner and me to enjoy the week on our own. The river runs fairly close to a road, so it's easy to reach if needed and feels reassuringly accessible, which I imagine works especially well for families and groups. Everyone on staff was friendly and engaged. We loved our stay and hope to return in winter.

The food was excellent, and the chef really knows what they're doing 👌. The staff were so kind, the rooms very nice. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay 😊

The location by the river is beautiful, with amazing views all around. From a treehouse window you can spot lots of birds and squirrels. We visited in winter, and the staff were lovely and super hospitable, helping us arrange and rearrange activity bookings. The food was very good, with vegetarian options too. Snowshoe hiking at night and husky sledging are musts. I skipped the ice bath this time, maybe next visit!

The restaurant serves good local produce, especially considering how remote the place is. It's set in a stunning bend of the Uman river, with hiking trails through the countryside and along the bank. The photo is from the Vindel river rapids, a short drive away. It's the only non-exploited river left in Europe.
