STF Hostel Visby/Ravhagen

There are lots of shared spaces, indoors and outside, which I really liked. The facilities were good and clean, the location was peaceful, and breakfast was included, so I thought it was good value. The city centre and bus stop felt a bit far, though still manageable. My small room was nicely warm. What made sleeping difficult was how thin the walls were, along with the heavy, loud doors. I kept hearing noisy guests outside and doors opening as people went out. It’d help to have reminders asking guests to keep quiet at night, say from 10pm, and to close doors gently.

There’s a large shopping center nearby, and the distance to central Visby is manageable depending on whether you’re walking or driving. Parking is free, often right beside the building. The place has camping benches and a barbecue area, plus rooms in different styles alongside the camping setup. There’s a fully equipped kitchen and the Wi-Fi is fast. I definitely recommend it.

The people, the place and the breakfast were all 10/10 for me. There’s a huge supermarket close by. Getting around is easier with a car or bike, though you can rent a bike at the hotel, because the bus system isn’t great. Still, an excellent holiday option!

The room had its own bathroom with a shower, and you could fold the two upper bunk beds against the wall to make more space. Little extras like a kettle, coffee, tea, a rug and TV made the stay really enjoyable. The shared guest kitchen felt homely. The people were very nice, and there’s a big supermarket just around the corner, though the center is a bit far away. The washer and dryer were a little tricky to use because the instructions weren’t in English. There were also some mosquitoes around.
