The apartment had a full kitchen, so we could prepare our own meals. It’s around 3 kilometers from Ystad’s old town and about 2 kilometers from supermarkets, with the beach very close by. This is a fairly large holiday complex, and although the nearby road gets busy by Swedish standards at peak times, nights were quiet. I booked early for mid-September 2023. Picking up the key was simple, with no registration form or other paperwork to fill in. I’d recommend the place and would book it again.

Even in winter, the houses felt warm and comfortable, and the walk down to the beach was worth every step. I loved being here. It seemed like such a simple place, yet it’s become one of my favourite spots in Sweden. For a few hours, you can leave everyday worries behind and feel you’re somewhere that lives up to its name.

The beach is wonderful, and the place works well for a proper break or while waiting for the ferry. The food was good, the houses were clean and nice, and some even have a jacuzzi right outside the door.

The cottages are nice and have the necessities. The owner or contact person was helpful whenever we had questions, and the price was low for a location so close to the sea. Parking isn’t right outside the cottage, it’s maybe 10m away, which was fine. Cleanliness could have been better, so I gave it three stars. Otherwise, it was OK.

We found the staff really helpful, and the apartment itself was spacious, clean, and very nice. The location was perfect.
