We left after three nights because of serious health and safety concerns. Around 4:00 AM, I woke up being bitten by bed bugs. There were adults and babies in the bed, on the walls, and on the floor around it. Seeing that many raised serious concerns for us about a wider infestation. When staff and management came to the room, they confirmed the bugs, told us to pack and move rooms, and were dismissive. There was no apology or explanation, and nobody acknowledged how serious it was. They didn’t discuss compensation, waiving fees, or a refund, so we chose to leave the property. We hadn’t expected luxury, but did expect somewhere safe and sanitary. There were other problems too: the TVs didn’t work, there was no hand soap in the bathroom dispenser, the poorly installed shower sent water everywhere, and the bathroom finishes looked worn, stained, and badly maintained. The WiFi was strong, but that didn’t make up for the sanitation and safety problems. Even check-in was frustrating. We had a reservation for two but got only one key, and were told another would cost $30. I’d strongly advise future travelers to skip this hotel and look at a nearby Airbnb instead, for more space, better value, and fewer issues.

The location was convenient for walking to a nice beach and restaurants. The building seems to have had some recent renovations, but there were signs of water damage from top to bottom. Our AC stopped working overnight, and the room became really hot and damp. The strong bleach smell was almost too much and made me uneasy. There’s no fridge in the room, and the staff didn’t seem very interested in helping. You get what you pay for.

The sheets were stained and damp, and when we sat on the bed our socks had already gotten wet from condensation on the floor. We asked the front desk for a refund so we could stay elsewhere, but they refused to refund the full amount because we’d sat on the bed. They returned the cost of one of the two nights and weren’t going to offer a room change until we raised it. They were going to keep our $124USD. We pointed out that a refund would mean making up one room, while moving us would mean remaking two, but they wouldn’t budge and said it was “non-refundable.” At first the front desk lady seemed friendly, then became nasty when we reported the problems. The room had seemed okay until we got inside and found the ceiling-mounted AC wasn’t blowing cold air and had black mold on it. That alone was enough for us to want a refund and stay somewhere else. All we wanted was a room with no black mold on the AC.

The room was simple and easy, just what I needed. The bed was massive and comfortable, and the price suited me since I only used the room to sleep, shower, and get ready in the morning. The young ladies I worked with and the ladies who cleaned the room were amazing.
