St. Martin Beach Resort and Spa

I'd give minus 5 stars if I could. I booked a Christmas vacation, and after the no-penalty cancellation deadline had passed, the hotel finally replied to my ignored emails weeks later to say it would close indefinitely on 12/15. Expedia refunded me, thankfully, but now I'm scrambling to find somewhere else to stay just 10 days before the vacation. Avoid at all costs.

I live on the island and didn't stay at the hotel, but visited on a day pass with two friends. The way we were treated makes me certain I'll come back. From the front desk to the pool bartender, everyone greeted us with such care and attention and treated us like royalty. We had breakfast, lunch, a snack, drinks by the pool, champagne and fruit skewers, and got a wonderful spot where we really enjoyed the pool. Special thanks to quality manager Jeanelle, restaurant manager Guillaume and bartender Alexander. It was a beautiful, peaceful day, and we'll definitely return.

The staff is incredible, and as an independently operated property the hotel offers great all-inclusive value. It sits right on the beach in lovely Anse Marcel Bay and is a spectacular property. It was Secrets St Martin until June 30, 2025, when it left the Secrets brand and became the independently operated St Martin Beach Hotel. To me, it was a mismatch with Secrets because it feels much more like a family-friendly resort than an adults-only property. Now that it isn't a Secrets, I think it should do very well. Any negative reviews, in my view, came from disappointed Secrets fans expecting an adult party atmosphere rather than a secluded tropical 4-Star resort. If you're looking for good value and a great time, this is the place.

The location is amazing, with the best beach on the island. The hotel felt a little outdated after Secrets left, probably because it's in a transition period. The beds, TVs and outlets need updating, and the pool area could use a sound system. Restaurant choices were limited, but everything we ate was delicious. Staff were always smiling and helpful. They weren't advertising during our stay, so there were probably more visitors than staff. The hotel felt very safe too. After housekeeping cleaned the room, our valuable things were still there untouched. Room views aren't that important in this U-shaped hotel, since every room has a decent view. Parking was free, and Grand case is a 15 min drive for nighttime entertainment.
