Ania made check-in easy with her kind, helpful welcome, and breakfast was included, with both a buffet and dishes you could order from the à la carte menu. We only stopped for two nights on a drive through Slovenia, but the hotel’s location was amazing. Our room had a balcony, and parking was right outside for what I think was about €10 a night. There’s also a rowboat guests can use for an hour. We didn’t get out on it, though I can imagine it’d be lovely in summer.

The hotel’s private beach was the highlight for me, with bar service, attentive personal butlers, and wonderful access for swimming in Lake Bled. The location is also hard to beat, with shops, restaurants, and local events just steps away. Our room was perfect, including the water pressure, which matters a lot to me. From check-in onward, the staff made everything feel warm, personal, and effortless. We were welcomed with a cocktail in the sitting room lobby, and having that drink with such a breathtaking view felt like a dream. I’ve stayed at Small Luxury Hotels around the world, and Grand Hotel Toplice is at the top of my list. I’ve never recommended a hotel more highly. We’ll absolutely return. It’s become my favorite stay anywhere.

We really loved our time here. The hospitality staff were great, and breakfast was a good buffet. Our balcony room looked out over the lake, with views of the castle and cathedral. Simply amazing.

The photo says a lot about the setting. It’s a very cool spot, and for Lake Bled I’d say this is the place to stay. Nothing else comes close. The decor feels a little dated and the carpets are worn, though. Front desk staff were great, and parking is nearby. Service tends to be more responsive when you ask than when you wait for an offer. The buffet was average and could use a tighter focus with fewer items. The lattes were barely warm.
