Hotel Astoria Bled

I didn’t stay at the hotel, but the spa was a fantastic experience. Marko gave me one of the best full body massages I’ve had. He was professional and calming from the start, and his technique and pressure were spot on. He paid close attention and seemed to know exactly where I needed the most work. I left relaxed and refreshed, and it’s clear he takes pride in what he does. The spa was peaceful, welcoming, and beautifully maintained. The staff were friendly and attentive too. I’d book again if I’m in Lake Bled, thanks to Marko and the team!

We had a pleasant stay and I’d recommend Hotel Astoria. The location is lovely, the staff were very pleasant, and we enjoyed the breakfast. I’d just prepare differently next time because parking inside the hotel was difficult, with cars parked badly and blocking one another. We had also reserved a baby bassinet, but none was available when we arrived. We were then told it cost 15€ extra per night, which hadn’t been disclosed when booking.

Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and Srečko and the team did a great job. The breakfast was amazing, with local food and the option to order an omelette and a few other things. It’s a 3 * hotel, but the experience felt much better. There’s also a spa with good massages, thanks to Maruša. I’ll definitely come back!

The breakfast was excellent, both for quality and choice, and I want to thank the young female receptionist who helped us move to a better room. After three uncomfortable nights, her help finally let us sleep properly. Unfortunately, the rest of our stay at Hotel Astoria was very disappointing. My wife and I were there from April 3rd to April 8th, 2026, after booking a standard room with breakfast through check24.de. The first room’s air conditioning barely worked, and the temperature never went below 24-25°C. With blankets that were much too warm, we had several sleepless nights. We complained for two days without an effective fix, and only moved rooms after asking repeatedly. The new room had a working thermostat and noticeably better furnishings, which made the poor condition and outdated facilities in the first room clear. The TV there didn’t work either. The bathtub shower was awkwardly arranged, so water spilled out even with the glass partition. When I mentioned it, the male receptionist dismissed the issue with an incorrect, somewhat condescending claim that this was how “European” bathtubs were designed. We’ve lived in Germany for 10 years and know that isn’t standard. He then said it was specific to Slovenia, which wasn’t convincing. Other answers were unhelpful too. We were told the minibar had been removed because guests stole things and COVID regulations led to its removal. About the faulty thermostat, the receptionist said he didn’t know why it wasn’t working and guessed it might be because the weather had been colder until recently. Apart from one staff member, people didn’t seem interested in fixing our problems and gave inconsistent or dismissive explanations. The poor room condition, lack of maintenance, and handling of our complaints made this a very disappointing stay, despite the breakfast and the one staff member who helped us.
