The view was beautiful, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the location right by the lake was fantastic. We loved staying here. Breakfast was just right, and the service was great. Highly recommend.

The small double room was comfortable and lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel sits right by the lake, with great views from the dining area and outdoor seating. It’s a five-minute walk from the bus station and about 15 minutes on foot to the castle. Watch your food if you sit outside, the birds are quick to try to steal it!

The views over Lake Bled and the warm service made a wonderful breakfast even better. One of our sandwiches was, as always, perfect. I had the English breakfast and polished it off, and my husband did the same with the Slovenian breakfast. Mila chose the American breakfast and happily ate the sausages, very on brand. Shiv had the waffle and loved every bite. He even went up to the host on his own to thank them for the great waffles, without any prompting from us. One of those little parenting moments you quietly remember. The food was genuinely amazing, and it was a meal that set a lovely tone for the whole day.

To the restaurant crew working 3-6:30pm on May 11th, you made our Slovenia trip feel worthwhile, if you remember the two girls from Texas! You were the best, the wine was the best, and that was truly the highlight of our trip. Can’t recommend this place enough!

The setting at Vila Prešeren has real charm, with a spot right beside Lake Bled and stunning scenery. But the prices took away from the experience a little. €5 for coffee and €7.90 for lemonade felt excessive, even at such an iconic destination. It’s worth going for the atmosphere and views, just expect to pay a premium.
