Hotel Terme - Terme Čatež

The heating in the spa was running too high, and there was no way to adjust it. We also had little to no changing room, and reception offered no meaningful apology. After driving for hours, I was left with careless, unprofessional service and no solution. When I later emailed about how badly this was handled, I got only empty excuses. A well-known hotel and spa charging around 300 euros a night for “luxury” should pay more attention to its guests. Avoid it.

The Riviera pools were warm and enjoyable, though crowded. The location is convenient, close to the border, and our rooms were clean and nice. Breakfast had plenty of options and was delicious, as was dinner. But nobody told us we needed to bring towels to the Riviera or rent them there. We had to go back to the hotel to ask for some. They expected us to walk half a mile with two little kids, half dressed, while it was snowing. Reception staff weren't welcoming and didn't explain anything. Maybe I'm used to Olimia, with its indoor hallways and better service. I care about getting value for money, and next time we'll look elsewhere.

We found the complex neglected, with worn surfaces, broken-looking areas, and poor upkeep throughout. The indoor temperature was so low that people were shivering instead of relaxing, which is unacceptable for a thermal pool. This was one of the worst pool complexes we've visited. The quality felt very low in every respect, and we left extremely disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it.

The spas themselves aren't bad, but they're packed with people, so it's hard to enjoy them. The hotels, including the spa hotel, are far too expensive, and the rooms look like they're from 1999. The food isn't bad either, though for these prices it's pretty awful.
