The check-in was the worst I've ever had. I've traveled to 18 countries and stayed everywhere from someone's Airbnb basement and basic hostels to five-star hotels. I'd give the service negative five stars if I could. I went to the address listed here and on booking.com. A woman asked what I needed, and when I asked where the hotel was, she said to go outside and left about 100m. I walked around looking for it, even trespassing into a few buildings by mistake. After 10 minutes, I called the number. I had to call three times, and each time there were long silences before anyone spoke. They kept giving directions to the other hotel. I pointed out that it had a different name and asked if the address in my booking was wrong, but they still insisted I should go there. Eventually I found the other hotel's reception. The man there was very kind and quickly explained that I should go down the street to the restaurant where I'd started. Since 40 minutes had passed, I asked a lot of questions. He said the workers here were students who didn't know what they were doing, printed my booking details, and told me to take the sheet back to them. I did, very frustrated, and they tried to send me away again until they saw it. Then I got a half-assed apology and was told it happened because I said “hotel.” I get that the woman thought I meant the hotel down the street, but why would I call this number three times if I was looking for the other hotel? Their directions were awful, and they left me hanging during the calls. I finally got into my room 50 minutes after arriving. FIFTY. That's unacceptable. They offered no compensation, and when they finally let me check in, they didn't even look at my passport. Super unprofessional. They were nicer later when I asked if there was a microwave, but that doesn't make the check-in any less awful or the waste of time any less frustrating. The place itself is old and run down, though things do work. The lock is annoying because you can only lock it with a key, from both inside and outside. I'd avoid this place in summer, when they've hired students to help. The owners really need to train the staff better. I'm still mad as I write this.
