Apartment Zonir with sauna

Calling this a “chalet” doesn't fit. It's a basic mobile home, very small for four people, and set right by a busy road. The noise makes it hard to relax outside, while indoors you need to keep the windows shut. There was also an odd smell, as if proper cleaning products hadn't been used. For the quality and surroundings, it feels well overpriced.

The host wouldn't let us cancel when we tried to leave, so we stayed and paid what we'd have paid for a four-star hotel in Germany. The hospitality felt very poor, as though profit was the only concern. I've known Slovenia differently. We booked through Airbnb because it was presented as a lovely little house in the green, and thought the higher-than-usual price would be worth it. What we found was more like a cheap mobile home squeezed into a garden between a house and a noisy street. It was plastic everywhere: floor, walls, furniture and cutlery. Even beneath the sheet there was plastic covering a very bad mattress, and the equipment was cheap and quite worn. Update: they tried to tell Airbnb we'd taken the towels. Luckily, we had filmed the place at the end.

The apartment is modern and well equipped, and the owners are nice. It's in relaxing surroundings, and having a sauna here is something you don't easily find elsewhere. It was probably the year's last week warm enough for a swim in Nadiža, but I used the infrared sauna anyway. It can warm you up on cold, rainy mornings or evenings.

The flat has great equipment, a nice view and a pleasant garden, and the sauna is top. It's peaceful, with good value for the money, set in the nature of Soca Velley while still close to everything.
