Turistična kmetija Štanfel

The owners put so much love into everything, and their hospitality made this a fantastic family stay. We really enjoyed the location too. We'd definitely recommend visiting, and hope to come back before long!

The rooms were cozy and warm, with everything we needed, including a little bar fridge. We arrived late in the evening, but the owners went out of their way to make us a delicious dinner and paired it with their own wines. The radicchio risotto was soul warming in the icy December weather, and their sparkling wine was a wonderful start to our first evening in Slovenia. The owners also had lots of useful information and suggestions for things to see and do in the area. We had stopped spontaneously in Slovenia on our way from Milan to Croatia for Christmas and stayed two nights. It was such a special experience, and my Mum, husband, and I felt very welcome and at home. We were all sad to leave, and I'll definitely return when travel is possible again. We're stuck in South Africa for now, but I'm determined to come back for the cherry festival. I was looking through old reviews while dreaming of travelling again and realized, to my horror, that I'd left a scathing review for this very special place. That review was meant for a dreadful restaurant we'd stopped at on the Italy-Slovenia border.

The rooms were tidy, and it was peaceful both day and night. The hosts were very friendly and happy to share tips on Brda, with useful flyers at the check-in desk, so ask about those. We rented a bike from a nearby shop, and it was delivered right to our doorstep. We ate in each evening, and the dinners were really nice. Since we're vegetarian, we had a different dish every night. Compliments to the cook! We also tried their wine and liked it enough to buy a box to take home. Highly recommend!
