The room had an unpleasant smell the whole time, probably from the bathroom drain. And there’s no hotel parking, so keep that in mind. Breakfast was the weakest part of our stay in Slovenia. The choice was very limited, and when the pastries ran out with more guests around, we had to wait a long time for another batch to thaw and bake. It might be okay for one night, but we wouldn’t recommend staying longer.

Breakfast had plenty of options, including vegan milk alternatives, and the room was cozy and modern. We chose the room with a patio. It was spacious enough, though shared with one other room, which happened to be empty while we were there. The beach and centre are both an easy walk away. We booked late on the day and arrived after reception had closed. There were no entry instructions, but after I called, they sent me everything straight away. One odd thing: when we switched on the toilet light, dust came down from the ceiling air circulation system, or whatever it's called, so we stopped using the light. Also, the listing mentions parking without making clear it's public paid street parking, not private hotel parking, and it was expensive.

We couldn't check in on the night we booked because it was so late. When we went the next day, the staff were kind and professional. We thought we might get our money back, but they were so nice that we decided to stay overnight instead, and they changed the booking date for us. I highly recommend the place and the staff. Our business meeting and overnight stay at Casa Veneziana worked out really well. The manager was warm, cheerful, friendly, and very helpful, and the location meant everything was close by. The rooms and the overall offering have a real boutique feel and authenticity, unlike the other place. I’m looking forward to trying the spa when it’s available again.
