Hotel Lipa

The restaurant is about a 10-minute walk from the centre. We had chicken soup and pumpkin soup, though the pumpkin was a little too sweet for my taste. The truffle gnocchi were extraordinary, and the grilled squid was excellent too. Their wine list is good, but the wines are expensive, so ask about the prices before ordering. We tried the Izola Malvazija Martinovič winery wine, which cost 30 euros. We went for a family lunch, and you'll need to reserve if you want a nice table.

This was a lovely choice for dinner. We went in early February during the quiet season, but the restaurant was full and had a nice atmosphere. The food was phenomenal, and I loved my meal while eyeing what was being served to other diners. The restaurant had just one server, who was quick, attentive, and funny. Definitely recommend it for a nice dinner.

Dinner was so good we wanted to try everything, and I’d put the restaurant in the Michelin guide if it were up to me. Our rooms were spotless, and the hotel has a lovely feel to it. The staff were kind from the moment we arrived and did a lot to help us feel at home. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Hotel Lipa, and hope to come back.

The location made it easy to walk into town, and parking at the hotel was free. We stayed four nights in Room 2, which had a private balcony. It was impressive, nicely decorated, very clean, and had plenty of storage. The bathroom came with L’Occitane shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hand soap, a nice touch. Breakfast had tasty continental choices as well as cooked items, and the complimentary coffee and cake from 3 to 5 pm were just right after a day out. We had to leave before breakfast service began, so the staff kindly packed us fresh orange, fruit, a croissant and breakfast rolls. We really appreciated that.
