Baščaršija Etno House

We arrived at the restaurant around 12:30 on a Thursday, and it was packed. It may have been because of a public holiday, though I'm not certain. We were seated after about 5-10 minutes, then waited at least an hour for our food. The staff said the kitchen was very busy, but we saw other tables waiting only 30-40 minutes. When we told a waiter about the delay, our food came out right away. Even with the wait, I'd still recommend the restaurant. The food was amazing and very good value.

The staff were friendly, prices seemed reasonable, and the food was really tasty. We shared the bosanska ploscsa za 2 osebi and finished it, though it was a bit more than we needed. There was about a five-minute wait at the entrance. It’s a great Bosnian restaurant, definitely worth trying.

Service was good, though the place was busy and there wasn’t a table available. We tried the chicken and beef mixed plates. The chicken was juicy and the portions were generous. The cevapi was good too, though I’ve had better: it could’ve been juicier and had more of a grilled flavor.

The mixed plates were delicious and plentiful, and the local cola and rakija made a nice finish to lunch. We came as four on a weekend just after opening, and were lucky to get a table without booking because it filled up quickly. The cozy interior and Balkan music made a lovely setting. Our first waiter had a little trouble with English, but it didn’t affect the experience. We’d definitely come back when we’re in Maribor again.
