Gentry11 Rooms and More

Our room had a handy little kitchenette, and breakfast at a nearby cafe was included and great. The hosts were relaxed, helpful, and efficient. We also really liked the room, the comfortable bed, and the location.

We arrived late at night for our first visit and had to haul four suitcases up steep stairs in a very old building. The entrance and the place itself looked like an odd renovation that wasn't finished. In the shower, both the shampoo and soap dispensers were empty, and there was no soap by the sink. One towel was left damp on the shower head, and it seemed no one had cleaned up after the previous guests. We were exhausted, so I messaged the hotel manager to say the room wasn't ready and this wasn't the welcome we'd expected. He said there was still soap and shampoo left in the bottles. The stay was very unpleasant, and when we asked for credit, he told us we could leave if we didn't like it. We've never had an experience like this before. That kind of conduct brings shame on any hotel that has even a little self-respect. A hotel that doesn't respect itself won't respect its customers either.

The rooms are beautifully finished, and ours felt new. We loved the comfortable bed, with two pillows each, which is hard to find here. There were lovely Slovenian products in the room and even Aesop soaps. Right in the heart of Maribor, it was a great place to stay. Highly recommend!

We keep choosing this hotel whenever we're in Maribor. Honestly, I get excited about visiting just because I get to stay here. The rooms feel like home and have awesome designs. It's dog friendly, and they really make dogs welcome, with bowls and treats in the room. They even put our dogs' names on the treat packages. So lovely! The owners are flexible, super friendly, and helpful. You'll be impressed.
