Wellness Hotel Apollo

The price didn't match the quality of the stay. Towels had electronic anti-theft devices, and even a bottle of water in the minibar or a bathrobe came with a charge. The rooms were spacious, but the carpet was quite old and the mattress so soft that I got a backache. We had to call service because the room hadn't been made, and at another point there was no toilet paper. The parking lot was 2 km away and cost 12 euros a day. You had to ask for someone to take you there and then wait. The restaurant had a very limited selection of poor-quality food. This didn't feel worth four stars.

The hotel and its location were great, and the parking lot was quiet. Getting to the seafront meant walking through another hotel, since this hotel's entrance and exit are on a different street. There's a nice pool, as well as plenty of places to swim in the sea. Some things that are included at other hotels cost extra here, like the sauna and bathrobe. The upstairs corridors were very hot, and the refreshing device was noisy. The beds were okay, but room service wasn't: the bed was barely made in the morning, used-up soap wasn't replaced, and we only got body and hand towels, no hair towels. The food was okay overall, though you had to choose carefully what to put on your plate. Apart from that, it was okay.

The room itself was fine, nothing special, but the WiFi didn't work at all during my stay. There's only one elevator for six floors, so waits got long around breakfast and check-out. I was really disappointed by the cleanliness. The staff never came to clean, and we got no fresh towels, the trash wasn't emptied, and the toilet paper wasn't replaced. At this price, that's unacceptable. The restaurant was as poor as it gets, with very little choice and practically nothing for vegetarians. Two or three staff members were arrogant and unprofessional, which made the stay even worse.

The staff weren't much help with directions or extra services, and I suspect there was a language barrier. The rooms were spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was roomy too, though it had an unpleasant smell.
