Gasperin Bohinj Hotel

Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We were in the back, in a quite small room, and the shower was tiny too. We found out that the mountain-view rooms are bigger. Screens on the windows would have been nice. It was warm, so we kept the window ajar throughout our stay, and a very large grasshopper came in overnight. Harmless, but a bit disconcerting when I felt it on my head and hair. The location is quiet, with an easy walk to the lake, restaurants, and hikes. Breakfast was excellent and service was great. Parking was easy. We heard some noise from other guests, but no road noise after about 10pm.

Breakfast was plentiful, with lots of choice, and our host was exceptionally kind and helpful. The accommodation was quiet, though we could sometimes hear other guests. That's not the host's fault. We can warmly recommend the place. We had a wonderful 4-day, 3-night stay. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we needed. The mattresses were extremely comfortable.

The balcony in Room 33 was a real highlight. It was spacious for the two of us, with mountain views to wake up to and enjoy while unwinding in the evening. Peter and the staff were lovely and helpful, and kept the place spotless, with pretty flowers and plants around. We spent our days hiking in the wider Lake Bohinj area, so a simple, clean place with a great breakfast each morning suited us perfectly. In the evenings we’d stroll down to the lake, find somewhere local for dinner, then come back to a comfortable bed.

Breakfast had lots of variety and felt lovingly prepared, and there was plenty of parking too. This family-run hotel is spotless, with Lake Bohinj just a short walk away. The owners made us feel very welcome and speak excellent English. We had a lovely stay and would happily come back.
