Hotel Jezero

Darja and the rest of the staff helped us through a really difficult day. After our car key and bags were stolen in the park, we came here to charge our phones and speak with the police. The next day we also filed the police report here. The theft had nothing to do with the hotel, but the staff were understanding, offered us delicious food, and helped however they could. Thank you 💌

We had a really nice time here. The hotel is surrounded by the lake and lovely nature, with Vogel nearby and waterfall Savica also easy to get to. The staff were friendly and knew their stuff, and Enes, our waiter, was especially great with us every day. The food was very good quality, and dinner included wine or draft beer you could pour yourself at no extra charge. The hotel is older, but well maintained. There’s a pool that isn’t too deep, which is handy for people who can’t swim, plus a sauna and small gym. My only complaints are that the beds could be more comfortable and there was no mantle or slippers in the room. Still, it’s a great place to stay.

We’d planned a relaxed afternoon in the sun with coffee, cake, and fries, but the service was really disappointing. We waited about 20 minutes for the fries, then the waiter brought two cakes we hadn’t ordered. Communication was difficult because the older gentleman serving us acted as if he didn’t understand English. When we asked for the bill, he put it down rather rudely without saying anything. Not an experience we’d repeat.

The hotel is spotless and well looked after, with friendly staff, free parking behind the building, and spacious, fairly modern rooms. Ours had a side view of the lake. It’s right by the banks of Bohinj lake, and makes a quiet base if that’s what you want. Breakfast is included and the price was reasonable. Food quality at the breakfast and lunch buffets wasn’t great, though, and they don’t refill dishes if you arrive near closing, so you could end up hungry. The all-inclusive drinks are cheap wine from cartons and cheap Tuborg draft beer, all self-service. The spa and pool cost extra. There’s no atmosphere in the hotel, so it may not suit you if you’re looking for that.
