A lovely BnB for an overnight stay, in a wonderful area, with incredibly friendly people.

The breakfast feels just as authentic as the farmhouse itself, with milk from the two cows that keep the donkey company. You might hear the donkey bray a couple of times before it goes to sleep, and once more when it wakes. There are a few cobwebs up on the roof and a moth by the chandelier, but they fit the simple, spartan, genuine feel of the place. The whole building has new double-glazed windows with mosquito nets. We arrived by car and slept comfortably on August 15th. We didn’t miss having air conditioning at all. The house still has its original furnishings and is full of art, paintings, and sculptures that may have been made by Signora Bernarda’s husband. At breakfast in the dining room, I felt as if I’d stepped into a film from another era, one that shows the roots of human relationships and the perseverance involved in building a family. Signora Bernarda is the heart of the home, friendly and discreet, like a grandmother. She speaks a little French, but you can understand her in any language. Her smile says a lot about the way her children and 10 grandchildren have grown up. At least one of her sons runs the farm and speaks English.

The hostess was very friendly and helpful, and there were cows, horses, and sheep on the property. Still, I expected more, even for a one-night stop while passing through. The bathroom was disgusting because it was so dirty. It was outside the room, through a shared hallway. That might be okay if there are no other guests, but the booking should clearly say that the room has no bathroom.
