Great value for the money. It’s not a high-end, classy hotel, but the experience was great, the food fantastic, and the staff really nice. Check the reviews on Tripadvisor for more details.

The breakfast was genuinely excellent, and the chef deserves credit for it. The pool and jacuzzi, though, smelled strongly of chlorine, and the pillows were huge and uncomfortable. The room was clean enough, but I was left with a much worse impression of how the hotel handled billing. I had already paid for breakfast and dinner before arriving. Still, every dinner appeared again on the final bill, which was given as one total in euros without any breakdown. I asked four times to see the details. They wouldn’t show me the bill, but went through items from their private list instead. That’s when I found charges for dinner water, an unlisted bottle from the room, and all the dinners I’d prepaid. There were other charges I hadn’t expected. At dinner, they offered drinks and asked if we wanted water, so I assumed water was included. It wasn’t: a small bottle cost €4, and they didn’t tell us the price or give a receipt at the time. I only learned about the charge the next day. The water in the freezer was also about €4. It wasn’t branded and didn’t appear in the room’s price list, while a different size of water was listed, so I thought this bottle might be complimentary. I asked to settle the bill around 12 hours before leaving, but they said I could pay when I left. I suspect they didn’t want guests to have much time to question the bill. The manager didn’t seem to care about my final complaints. I can’t speak for the other hotels in Rogaska, but this was my experience at Hotel Slovenija. Be careful, or consider leaving it off your booking list. The food was a real bright spot. Slovenia also impressed me for its flowers, landscaping and food. One more thing about dinner: they start clearing the food 15 minutes before the meal ends.

Friendly staff and really good food made this small hotel a great place to stay. The rooms were clean, though they ought to have air-conditioning in summer.

For €10, you get a pleasant all-you-can-eat buffet. The service was good, and I thought it was worth stopping by.
