Our group of 15 stayed at Vila Castanea in Kostanjevica na Krki for four days and three nights, and we'd love to return. The rooms were spacious, warm, and impeccably clean, even by my standards. The villa itself is beautiful, with its historical features, thoughtful details, and lovely lighting creating a cozy, authentic feel that made us want to stay inside. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade food from the bread to the marmalade. After long workdays, the red wine they offered us was a lovely touch, and they didn't charge us for it. When my husband fell ill, he had to stay alone at the villa while the rest of us were working. Mr. Andrej and Ms. Nina looked after him, bringing tea and anything else he needed to get better. They were both so warm and kind. Mr. Andrej is a real professional, easy to talk to, and attentive to guests, often thinking of what you might need before you ask. You can see how much he cares about his work. This was a wonderful stay, more than a perfect 10 for us. If we travel nearby again, Vila Castanea will be our choice. The place is so beautiful you don't want to leave, and the hosts make you want to come back.

Nina made us feel that guests' well-being comes first, and the villa has been renovated beautifully. The breakfast, made entirely with local ingredients, was really tasty too. Our trip to Dolenjska wouldn't have been the same without an overnight stay at Villa Castanea. Highly recommend!

The room was comfortable, clean, and very reasonably priced, and we loved the excellent breakfast made almost entirely from local produce. The village is lovely, set on an island in the river. Our host was kind and friendly, with some great suggestions for us. We'd happily return and recommend it to anyone passing through southern Slovenia.

The setting was great, and the host made us feel at home during our one-night stay. We came away very impressed, especially with all the helpful tips on places to visit and spots to eat and drink. Definitely worth it!

Breakfast was generous and delicious, with local homemade products, and we enjoyed our coffee outside in the flower and lavender-filled garden. This is a lovely B&B right in the middle of the little island village. The hosts were wonderful, and the rooms and cleanliness were on a 5-star hotel level. Definitely recommend!
