The place feels warm and welcoming, thanks to the super friendly staff who are always ready to help. We really enjoyed staying here. The local food was fresh, homemade and seriously tasty, and it’s a good choice for families, with plenty of room for kids and a relaxed atmosphere. We had a great time and would definitely return.

The hosts are spacious, but seven people have to share one bathroom. Five of us slept in one room, and two of the beds were pull-out drawers, so it felt like sleeping on the floor. The house wine was pricey and well below average, as was the honey they sell. The people working there were very friendly, though. If you’re driving there at night, be careful. The forest road is extremely narrow and winding.

It looks lovely from the outside, but the room had seen better days. There were no curtains or anything else to block the light, so we woke up much too early. The soundproofing could be better too. On our trip we stayed in ten hotels, and unfortunately this was the one where we felt least welcome.

I only ate at the restaurant, so I can't say anything about the rooms. The food was fantastic, especially the mushroom soup and deer goulash. My wife really liked her pâté and wild ragout too. The staff were very friendly, and our waitress spoke excellent English. The wine was good, and the bill seemed shockingly low compared with what we're used to paying in the UK and Austria.
