The view across the valley toward Boynice was incredible, and breakfast was fresh and tasty. The staff at Penzion Maxim were very friendly. I was there in October 2013, and although the hotel is some distance from Boynicky Castle, the road to Boynice is quite nice. It’s a humble place in a remote part of Slovakia, but it felt wonderful to me. Maybe the lovely group of friends I was with added to that feeling, though I believe others will find something that touches their heart too.

The neighbors were quiet, so I slept well, and the staff were nice. The food was above average for the price. The main attractions are within a 15-minute walk, though the road there is poor for cars. The room had no hair dryer, chair, table, or shelves for putting things away. There was only soap and towels in the bathroom, and the WiFi didn’t work. The trash wasn’t emptied during our two-night stay, so I had to pile rubbish on top of the bin. Cleaning was only done when requested. This guesthouse could have been a star in the 90s.

The area was lovely and peaceful, and we were really happy with our stay at Maxim Chata. I’d definitely come back and can only recommend it. Dakujeme!

The staff were friendly and the place was clean, but my overall impression was just average.
