Hostel Bratislava

Freshly renovated and very clean. I’d recommend it to anyone.

We had a good impression for most of our three nights: the rooms were clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and things felt friendly and peaceful. My girlfriend’s family and I spent most of the time out, but on the last day we wanted to sit around until our bus left. When we asked to keep our bags a little longer, the owner’s son pulled a face. Later, when we returned for them and wanted to use the shared bathroom in the common area before leaving, I was asked if I had no decency because it had already been cleaned for other guests and checkout was at ten. We weren’t asking to use a private room bathroom. It felt like the friendly welcome was only a facade and that they cared more about money than the people staying there. We’ve travelled a lot and never had an experience like it. I won’t come back. Absolute failure of a hostel!

The district didn’t look especially reassuring at first, but we felt completely safe, even late at night. Public transport with a direct connection to the centre is only 100 metres away. Service was friendly, and the place was very clean, with everything you need and fairly new furnishings and equipment.

The outside of the building might put you off, but we felt very safe during our two nights. The owners were friendly and helpful; the interior is modern, our room was spotless, and the shared bathroom was cleaned often. It’s close to a tram stop and a Lidl. The room got a little hot, and the walls let through some sound, but all in all I’d recommend Hostel Bratislava for a short stay.
