The castle view was gorgeous, and the food was delicious. We had a family birthday here with a big group, and the staff were patient, polite, and professional throughout. A special thanks to our waiter, Robi, who handled all the orders and was always smiling and kind. Keep up the good work :))

Had lunch here. The portions were generous, the food was excellent, and the price was fair. Recommended.

We were four for lunch, and it was honestly a disaster. The restaurant was mostly empty, so the servers were quick at first, but waiting for the bill took 15-20 minutes once a few more people arrived. The place itself was pretty dirty, with several spider webs under chairs and dust and dirt around; the windows weren’t clean either. Given the menu prices, I’m surprised by the quality of this place. The two chicken broths were really good. The trouble was the “bowl for the brave,” a 3000g serving with brisket, ribs, smoked knee, pulled pork, sausage, coleslaw, and potatoes. Everything in it seemed like microwaved semi-finished food, even the potatoes weren’t freshly baked. The brisket and ribs were overcooked, with burnt, slightly acidic edges, while the knee and sausages were cold. Only at the end of lunch did a server mention it had been prepared on Monday/Tuesday, though they’d served it to us on Sunday. When we complained, they took it back and offered to let us order something else without charging for the bowl. We gave them another chance. The two “kočoňa” portions, basically aspic, were fresh and delicious, but the little bowls, maybe 100g, cost 5,30€. The meat in the Hungarian goulash was very good, though a little cold, and the dumplings weren’t warmed properly. We also had a rib eye with mushrooms and freshly baked potatoes. We asked for medium, but the steak seemed pre-cooked and just microwaved. The edges could count as medium, but the middle was close to rare/blue rare. It was really tough and chewy. For dessert we had two “homemade” cottage cheese balls with whipped cream and plum filling. They were frozen and microwaved, and the plum filling was still frozen. The rosé wine was delicious, and the semi-dry red wine was good too.

We booked this place because it was in the center of Filakovo and close to the company where we had a workshop. The rooms and toilet were dirty, and the owner had a bad attitude. At payment, they added things up randomly, so we ended up paying as much as at the best Munich hotel, with the best service. They only take cash. After paying for the room and checking out, it was hard to get a receipt. They said they’d send it later, but never did. A terrible experience.
