We were still on the road when our room was cancelled on the morning we were due to arrive. We’d booked through Booking a week earlier, and although paying at the property was supposedly an option, they said our card was invalid. It worked fine, and we even tried changing the booking to another card, but that was rejected too. They hadn’t asked us for a deposit. We got no reply to our Booking message. Instead, an SMS came from the number listed for messages, asking us to contact them first. We wrote in both English and Slovak, then our calls went to voicemail or seemed to be blocked. It’s frankly upsetting and disgusting to have your accommodation cancelled for a reason that shouldn’t have mattered, especially on arrival day. We can’t recommend this place, particularly to anyone travelling from far away. Finding out mid-trip that you have nowhere to stay is awful.
