Boutique Hotel Slavia

We only stayed briefly, but it was a great visit. The hotel sits right in the center, and Katarina at the front desk was especially lovely. Our room was modern and very clean, with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast had plenty to choose from. We also ate at the hotel's restaurant, which has a more upscale feel. The food was grate. I had grilled chicken with an amazingly delicious gravy, though I still don't know what it was. The chef is a magician.

The rest of the stay was fine, but the breakfast was a real letdown. With this being the city's most expensive restaurant, I expected much more than a limited, weak selection. The odd details stood out too: no sweet things, and pickles, dried tomatoes, and olives set among the granola and muesli. A big shame. The main street is very noisy, so it was hard to sleep or relax.

The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished, and clean, and the staff are kind, helpful, and always around with advice. We enjoyed the restaurant too. The hotel has an old-world feel, with Austria-Hungary architecture and style, and offers a high standard at a friendly price. It's a real find in the heart of Kosice. Parking is available free of charge for an additional fee, and we'd love to return. Breakfast was the one weak point for us: the selection is quite small, mostly meat and eggs, and could use more variety.

The view is hard to beat, and the rooms are roomy and comfortable, especially the De Luxe ones. The cuisine is top notch too. Probably the best hotel in Košice. I'll definitely be back.
