Penzion Grand

The location was the only real plus, since you can find places for the same price that are better. The room looked nothing like the pictures on the website or booking.com. One window was bricked up, and the other faced the courtyard without curtains, so light came in all night. The pillows were uncomfortable, some furniture was broken, and the bedroom door wouldn't close. The Wi-Fi was terrible too.

The place has potential, but it needs renovation, and the experience seems to vary. Our room was huge, clean and smelled nice. The bathroom was spotless, although there was no soap or shampoo, and the towels were grey from being washed so much. The bed was broken, but I managed to fix it with a little workaround, and it was comfortable after that. The shower pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water. The room was manageable overall, and the staff were nice and helpful despite being short-handed. Breakfast was easily the weakest part. It wasn't awful, but I'd bring my own. The coffee was an insult to coffee, and they served the cheapest options. If you're vegan, all you can eat is toast with nothing on it. Given the price per night, though, it's a good budget option for Košice.

I was there on a business trip, and the only real advantage is the location, very close to the city centre. The rooms are quite big, but very dirty and missing things guests need, like shampoo, body soap and sheets. The staff member who dealt with me was kind, though there was nothing they could do about the policy at the place. Breakfast was decent. This is one of the worst pensions I've ever stayed in, and I wouldn't recommend it.

For a cheap place to sleep, it's fine. It was clean and reasonably priced, but the rooms, especially on the ground floor, have a pretty lackluster design. Breakfast and service could be a bit better too.
