We paid 250 euros for two nights, but left after one and got no refund. They did give us sandwiches for the trip back. The owner said the room we had booked wasn't available, and that another one would cost 500 euros. He told us we should be glad we'd paid so little because he'd made a mistake and hadn't updated the prices on booking. He also complained that we hadn't paid a deposit, even though it wasn't required and our reservation was confirmed by credit card. The room was number 2. It was nothing like the family room described, which was meant to have two connecting rooms and one bathroom. Instead, we got what looked like an attic space. It was tiny, with steep stairs from the kitchenette to the sleeping area, then another set of stairs down beside the king-size bed leading to a mysterious door. Easy to fall down at night. It was dirty too, with hair in the bathroom, tub and sink, plus rubbish left by previous guests in the bin. The radiators were cold, so it was terribly cold at night and in the morning. We ate breakfast and dinner in the hall by the entrance, also cold, because sheets were drying in the area meant for dining. Dinner was soup, a main course and dessert, with no alternatives. If you didn't like it, you had to go hungry or find food outside. It cost 8 euros per person. Breakfast was okay.

The stream beside the guesthouse was a highlight, we even had a little dip to toughen up. We spent four lovely days here. The manager was great and did his best to accommodate us. Breakfast had enough choices for everyone, and by arrangement we had excellent homemade pizza for dinner and fantastic beer. Our room was clean and we had no complaints. Thanks again for a relaxing stay in a pleasant setting.

Two days was quite enough, I can't recommend it. The rooms were dusty and the toilet smelled. I was shocked by what the owner charged us for two nights, and the breakfast didn't seem worth the price either. They charge €6 for a child too, even though kids don't eat much. It just didn't add up.

We were satisfied overall. Our family room was spacious, with a big kitchen and fireplace, and it was clean enough. The owner was willing to do whatever we asked. Some details could use a bit of attention. He’s the Slovak champion at pouring beer, so give him a try. The Kofola was excellent too, with no CO2 pushing, which I really liked. They also cook very tasty food.
