Hotel Turiec

The outdoor terrace was a real plus, with sun in both the morning and evening. We could have breakfast and dinner outside, or sit with a cold drink in the afternoon. The restaurant meals I tried, steak, pad thai, and Caesar salad, all looked great and tasted very good. Breakfast had everything you need. We stayed Tuesday through Saturday in July, during the warm days around the end of school. The hotel is right at the end of Martin's pedestrian street, so it was easy to get around and enjoy what the city has to offer. It looked clean and well kept, with a good standard. The rooms were spacious and had a bathtub, TV, safe, minibar, and kettle. The carpets could be hard to get fully clean, and there's no air conditioning, so I took a star off for the room. You can hear the city at night, but closing the windows made it fine. The hotel also has a spa. Some friends tried it and were happy with it. I didn't use it myself. It's a very good hotel, and I'd gladly return if I'm in the area.

We held our wedding reception in Hotel Turiec's main restaurant and booked rooms for all our guests visiting from Canada. The staff went out of their way to look after everyone, and we're very grateful we chose the hotel for such a special day. The food was a big hit with our guests. It was delicious and presented creatively, and several people commented on its quality. The rooster soup was especially good. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and well appointed, with high ceilings that I particularly liked. We were also pleasantly surprised by the in-house spa, whose services were very reasonably priced. For us, it's the top hotel in town.

The staff made everything easy and gave us great service. I especially liked the spacious room, the Thai massage at the wellness center, and the large parking area for people arriving by car. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

For a small town, this is a fairly simple, old-style hotel, and it may be the best one here. The reception is open around the clock, and parking is free. There's no air conditioning, though the windows helped cool the room. Breakfast is basic but has enough choice. They're doing their best to maintain the standard, so good luck to them.
