The cottage itself was clean, and the surroundings were pleasant, but the landlady’s attitude and lack of help completely spoiled our stay. We’re students, both 17, and had agreed on the price with her by phone beforehand. She knew our ages, and we’d arranged the amount in advance because we needed to withdraw cash in the Czech Republic. After we arrived, she wasn’t very welcoming and said she had to move us to a larger apartment because of our longer stay, then asked for another 50 euros. We talked it through and said that wouldn’t work. She eventually dropped the extra charge, and we paid the agreed price. After that she became even more unpleasant. Since the stay was a lot of money for us, we asked for proof of payment. She promised to provide it, but even after we kept asking, we still hadn’t received it three days later. Other reviews mention the same issue. We also read claims that she goes into guests’ apartments and checks them while they’re out. That worried us, though it didn’t happen to us. The larger of the two apartments had a boiler for heating the water and the whole cottage. She gave us basic instructions for using it, but reviews said she might also be able to control it from the house. We checked it often and kept turning it back on, but it repeatedly switched itself off and on. She called several times telling us to turn it on, and we suspected she was turning it off herself after we switched it on. When we saw her on a bus in a nearby village, she avoided eye contact and seemed like she’d rather not speak to us. Don’t expect a warm greeting if you run into her. If you expect a basic equipped kitchen based on the booking information and reviews, the supplies were lacking. There weren’t enough knives, there was no oil, salt, or pepper, and we had just one dishcloth and no garbage bags. I felt the proposed price increase was an attempt to take advantage of young students who might not know what’s appropriate in this business. In my opinion, not providing a payment document and taking cash is a way to cheat the state out of taxes. From the reviews, it seems she chooses who she likes and treats people accordingly, which may explain why some reviews are positive and others negative.

We keep coming back to the "Iveta" cottage and have always been happy there. The owners are helpful and pleasant, and the place is clean and cozy. Its kitchenette has enough for self-catering, and the stay is reasonably priced. We’re regular guests, and I highly recommend it. Jaroslav Pospíšil Plzeň

We were happy with our stay. Even in winter, the room was nice and had what we needed close at hand. There was a portable radiator, otherwise it was cold in there. The bathroom was fine, though the entrance area was cold.

We told them when we planned to arrive, but nobody was there to meet us. The door was unlocked, so we got in. The apartment is small and simply furnished, though it has what you need. There didn’t seem to be hot water, and it took a long time before we could have a warm shower.
