Ensana Esplanade

The hotel feels outdated, and my room wasn't clean. The curtains had come off and nobody fixed them. The carpet gave me severe allergies, so I didn't manage to relax at the resort at all.

I paid a premium for two people with full board, but neither the service nor the treatments felt worth the money. The food was below basic, so we spent extra eating out. After ten days here, with ten still to go, I can't wait to leave. My back injury has me in pain most of the time, and there are plenty of other things I could write about. I had my first treatment the day after arriving in Slovakia. I don't understand why people praise this place so much. Most workers were rude or unprofessional, though a few were lovely and polite. Many leave you to figure things out without much guidance. At my first visit to the mirror pool, I slipped and hurt my foot, and nobody was there. During fitness sessions, no one explains which exercises to do. One man at the health reception was especially rude and disrespectful to others. For all the visitors from the Middle East, management still doesn't provide halal food for Muslims. Some spa rules require being fully naked in certain treatment areas, which many Muslims who come here and spend a lot of money find unacceptable. This was my first visit after hearing people talk about the hotel. It's going to be my last time in Piestany and at Ensana esplanade health spa. I'm sure other places offer the same or better results.

I really liked the natural clay, a gift from God, and the hotel sits amid lovely scenery. The food was very bad, though. Healthy meals don't have to taste bad, and the chef should know a range of international cooking, including Italian, American, and Indian. Reception staff spoke poorly and were impolite, while the sanatorium technicians seemed to lack kindness and compassion toward patients.

The spa was a highlight. I booked 21 treatments over 16 nights, and they were good. We had a package with three meals a day, with a good selection of soups, salads, and main courses. The hotel itself is lovely, with a spacious room, a very nice bathroom, and really great service.
