Everything else worked perfectly for me: the staff, building, location, breakfast, and room cleanliness. The one problem was the mattress, which was firm and unyielding on equally firm wooden slats. Maybe that suits younger guests, but at 76 I need a few more comforts. Still, it’s well worth a stay.

The rooms are spacious and close to the city centre, and the reception staff were excellent and cooperative. There’s good vegetarian food if you choose from the side dishes on the menu. They were a little conservative about replenishing bathroom supplies and tea or coffee bags each day, and the facilities were missing the complimentary bottle of drinking water.

The receptionist was kind, and having an underground garage was a plus. But there were no phone chargers at reception, and the jacuzzi was in very poor shape, with dust or something sitting at the bottom. That’s why I gave it three stars.

The hotel is in good shape, and the food was tasty, even if the menu feels a little old-school. The organization could be sharper.

I spent a month here before the pandemic started. The place is amazing, and the staff are super nice!
