Davi Penzion & Bowling

Great.

I got in touch with the gentleman to reserve a bowling lane, and his tone was unpleasant from the start. He asked what time I wanted, and when I said 7:00 PM, he told me that was too late because the waitress was going to Dobšiná to catch a bus. Their internal arrangements shouldn’t really be the customer’s concern. Instead of a normal conversation, I was left feeling like I was bothering them. I’d suggest checking everything beforehand to avoid the same unpleasant situation.

This hostel might do for one night, but the cleaning service seems to have completely gone to sleep. The shared shower takes around 20 minutes to get hot water, and the WiFi is so weak it may as well not exist. If you stay for ten days, don’t expect fresh bed linen, since it’s only changed when the room is empty. The heating seems to work backwards. At -5 outside at night, the radiator switches off, then at +4 it heats like crazy.

A bit retro, but at this price I’m not expecting luxury or space-age technology. The accommodation is good and not too expensive, and the owner was kind enough to recommend a good pizzeria nearby. The room had decent equipment, including a fridge and its own kettle.
