Penzión St. Martin

We booked spontaneously one evening while touring the country and arrived with modest expectations, curious because of the good reviews. The warm welcome and attention to detail really surprised us. We had a wonderful stay at the pension and ate at the restaurant at St. Martins. The food was excellent, delicious, and served in generous portions. Get the ribs! A very cute cat came to visit, which we loved. Our room was cozy and quiet, and we slept well. Breakfast was yummy too, and the dining room has beautiful vintage Mobiliar. For two people, dinner and breakfast together came to a very fair total price for the quality. We’d definitely come back.

The “pyrohy” were absolutely amazing, and having toiletries in the bathroom was so handy in the hot summer. The entrance looked beautifully romantic, and the service was polite and professional. They even helped me surprise my cousin with a birthday candle. Their pistachio cake was amazing, not too sweet and healthy! ♥️

We took a couple of short morning walks along the walls and through the nearby woods, with great views. The location was a wonderful surprise, inside an old city that, if we understood correctly, is a copy of the old city of Jerusalem. The restaurant has a calm feel and a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was ordinary, but having it outside on the balcony made it better. Highly recommended.

Set within the fortified walls of the religious city of Spišská Kapitula, this cozy hostel has a restaurant, a garden terrace, parking, and good food and breakfast. It’s a handy base for tours of "Spiš Jerusalem", the travertine mound called "Sivá Brada" (Grey Beard), Saint Martin's Cathedral, and the Bishop's residence. There are good views of Spiš Castle and the surrounding area.
