The woman looking after the place was pleasant and helpful, though she was only an employee of the owner. Still, I expected more, especially after having to pay the full amount in advance. There aren't many power sockets, and the attic gets unbearably hot in summer. There are no insect screens, and the skylight wouldn't stay locked open. The kitchenette is so poorly equipped that cooking even something small is almost impossible without bringing your own things. The beds are worn out and make a lot of noise when you turn over, and the bathroom has seen better days too. Parking was advertised as available in limited numbers, but we were told it was mainly for guests in the “main house.” Neighbours quickly warned us not to park in front of their house. I won't be coming back.

The owner was lovely, so I'd stay again. We spent four days in Štúrovo with the family. The old furniture was fine, and everything was clean. The yard was great for grilling, with a spot for everyone. It did get terribly hot in the rooms, though. I'd definitely choose a place with air conditioning next time.

The woman in charge was kind and came over willingly when a leak appeared at 10 pm. It was in the basement, which wasn't accessible, but she helped us fix it. She was the reason I gave two stars. The apartment was clean, too, but for around €100 a night, this was nowhere near good enough. Everything felt old and creaky, and I wouldn't recommend it, especially for families with children. We stayed in an apartment in the “main building,” which felt like stepping back twenty years. The attic rooms were unbearable in summer without air conditioning. We had to keep the windows open and run fans all night, but the fans used up the only socket in most rooms, leaving nowhere to charge phones. The WiFi network showed up but barely worked for most of our stay. The bathroom was a plastic-covered fixture attached to the wall, with an old tap that gave hot water sometimes and cold water at other times. One toilet didn't work, so we repaired it ourselves. The kitchen had a two-burner stove that took 20 minutes to heat, and the rest of the equipment was nowhere near enough for six people. There were too few glasses, plates, and utensils. The best thing in the apartment was the large fridge with freezer. There was also an old air conditioner in the kitchen that worked for two days, plus a tiny tablet-sized TV that we didn't even try to turn on. We found only one or two electrical outlets in the apartment. The beds were awful, waking everyone whenever an adult turned over, though the mattresses were okay. Outside, there was a gazebo and grill for six to eight people, but when the place was full, those without a terrace had to sit on the stairs. It wasn't enough space for thirty guests, and the grounds looked neglected. There was no way to sort glass and paper. Three cars were crammed into the garage, which itself was fine, but you had to coordinate with your “roommates” to get out. One neighbour even threatened to damage a guest's car parked on the street, saying those weren't guest spaces.

There were just two of us, and one room was enough since we're not demanding. We had trips planned, so we only slept there, but the dated, unattractive room still made a poor first impression. The promised parking was only for two cars. When more families are staying, everyone else has to find somewhere to park.
