Penzión WELYA

The location is right on the square, close to the swimming pool, and parking at the property was great. We were traveling with a baby, and they provided a bathtub and travel cot. The children got bottled iced tea on arrival, while the adults were offered a glass of good wine. The people were lovely. Our room was nice and the beds comfortable; everything worked except the air conditioning. I’d happily stay again next season and recommend it to others.

We chose Welya guesthouse because we wanted a place with a gym and wellness facilities, but the owner said they were being renovated. That information wasn’t mentioned online. We also paid for air conditioning, but there was none in our room, just a fan in 35°C heat. The owner hadn’t told us and didn’t seem to care. The mess around the place was another issue. We stayed only three days, thankfully. The accommodation cost as much as a 3-star place, but didn’t feel like one at all. And breakfast at 7.50 euros!!!! We’ve stayed at many hotels and guesthouses in Slovakia and elsewhere, and breakfast at that price?! The owner should think twice, especially during the season.

Friday and Saturday nights were noisy from the street, though it was quite peaceful during the week. That’s outside the guesthouse’s control. The owner was glad to suggest places to visit with or without children, and the little one had a lovely cot ready. Towels were changed every day, and there was air conditioning in the room, though we left it off and kept the windows open overnight because of the baby. We stayed five nights. Dinner offered a choice of two main dishes, plus soup and dessert. Breakfast was a smaller classic buffet, but there was plenty, with something different to choose from each morning. Cleanliness, helpfulness, and food were all good. I recommend this guesthouse for families with children.

The room was spacious and clean, and the owners were really kind and helpful. We had a great stay this weekend and will definitely come back. A+J
