Wellness Cottage CEDER

The food was enjoyable, with good portion sizes and traditional meal settings for supper. The spa was small but clean and good. We stayed on the first floor, where the room was comfortable, and the mattress and linens were amazing. I slept very well, and I’m sure they were good for my back. The hotel was lovely, though the poor sound insulation meant we could hear noise from neighboring rooms. Highly recommended.

The views were awesome, and the location makes it easy to get around and see most of the High Tatras. The style, design, and equipment were all absolutely awesome.

Disappointing is the best way to describe our three-day stay in a room at Wellness Cottage Ceder. At first glance the room seemed nice, but within five minutes we were finding dead and live wasps in different places, despite being told it had just been cleaned. We kept stepping on them, and the lack of slippers made it even more annoying. We complained several times about how uncomfortable we were, but didn’t get a professional response until the very end, when they offered not to charge us for the spa. They also offered to move us on the last night. That should have been offered after our first complaint, since I assume they knew they couldn’t properly deal with the wasp problem. The whole situation made the owners seem unqualified. The noise was another major problem. The hotel has very poor insulation. It seemed like the owners had tried to spend as little as possible while making as much money from clients as they could. Our wellness and satisfaction clearly aren’t a priority at this hotel.

We spent four days there, and the staff really looked after us. They were attentive, handled every request, and made sure we had what we needed. The pool and spa are nice and relaxing. One thing to plan for: the hotel is a long way from the bus station, though it’s near the cable car. There aren’t many taxis around, so renting a car is a good idea.
