Hotel Hubert High Tatras

The view was lovely, and the quality for the price was great. There’s plenty for kids, including a playground, playroom, cinema, and even a little zoo, plus free WiFi. We ate really good fried cheese and gulash with knedlicky. It’s a great family base for skiing or hiking in the mountains. We’ll definitely go back.

This was our fourth year celebrating New Year at the Hubert Hotel, and it was another fantastic trip. The festive feel, warm welcome, and time together made it memorable and keep the hotel as part of our tradition. The one letdown was the pool staff member whose negative attitude caused us stress for the second year in a row. Even so, the celebration as a whole was wonderful.

There’s a good range of food, especially for kids, with simpler dishes that are still really tasty. It’s a lovely place for families, with lots for children to experience and a chance for parents to relax. The outdoor playground was in the middle of being replaced, so hopefully it’ll get the upgrade it needs. The hotel has the facilities you need, but some could do with improvement. When you look closely, parts of it don’t feel up to standard.

The waiters and other staff behaved impeccably, and I appreciate the hospitality. The entrance, though, isn’t very presentable for guests, with broken tiles and cracked walls. I’d rate the exterior 5 out of 10. There weren’t many buffet choices, and most dishes included meat, especially pork. The spa is basic, just a pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. The gym has two machines that plug into the electricity, and both were broken. The playground wasn’t anything special, just like what I have at home. The zoo’s unusual point is that it has animals from hot countries that we can see in cold countries. Maybe we’ll visit again someday.
